Honoree: Anton J. Dietrich Jr. (1918-2018) served in G Company of the 39th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division from 1941 until 1947. He saw action in North Africa, Sicily, France and was wounded in Sedjenane and France, which ended his infantry fighting. He many awards included two Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star,and the French Legion of Honor. After the war, he was very active in his community as an Usher at Our Lady of the Cenacle for 63 years, Holy Name Society at Our Lady of the Cenacle, a member of Queens Community Board 9 for 43 years, a member of the Van Wyck Civic Association, President of the Kiwanis Club of Bellerose, and a member of several veterans organizations.
