Honoree:  Frank Varriano (1957-2002) was employed by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and worked in the Twin Towers. On 9/11, he was in his office on the 88th floor of the North Tower at the time of the attacks. He immediately began helping everyone to the exits and carried a man in his 90’s from the 11th floor all the way to safety outside of the Tower just before it collapsed. A year later, he had a massive heart attack as a result of the trauma he experienced and passed away as a result of 9/11 related illness as recognized by the September 11th fund. (Matteo)
