Honoree: Lance Corporal Noonan (1943-1969) graduated from Hunter College with a degree in Physical Education. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1968 and was assigned to Vietnam. On February 5, 1969, while under heavy fire, he was killed while attempting to rescue four wounded fellow marines. He was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.
