Honoree: Wynn Handman (1922-2020) taught acting classes West 56th Street from 1955 t0 2008, first in a carriage house at 158 W. 56th, then Studio 808 of the historic Carnegie Hall Studios. He trained actors such as Michael Douglas, Christopher George, Richard Gere, Frank Langella and John Leguizamo. He was also artistic director of the American Place Theatre, where he directed numerous plays. He was recipient of many awards, including the 1999 Off Broadway Theater Award (Obie Award) for Sustained Achievement in 1999. (Powers)
