MacinaRudy Macina Peace Memorial Plaza (Bronx) Present name:None Location:Williamsbridge Road and Esplanade Honoree: Rudy Macina (1923-1993) a Marine in World War II, returned to the Bronx and became a community activist. He helped revitalize the Bronx Columbus Day Parade; “adopted” and cleaned up two subway stations on the Dyer Avenue Line, and was the force behind a movement to create a veterans memorial in the triangle at Williamsbridge Road, Laconia Avenue and Pelham Parkway North.
