Honoree:  Father Paul Schneirla (1916-2014) became pastor of St. Mary’s Antiochan Othodox Church at its founding in 1951 and served continuously for over 50 years until his retirement in 2002. He was also a general board member of the National Council of Churches since the 1940’s and was the last surviving member of the original founders of the Standing Conference of the Canonical Orthodox Bishops in the Americas. He served as a priest of the Antiochian Archdiocese for 71 years and was the first chairman of its Department of Christian Education, he served as Dean of the Atlantic Deanery and the first editor of The Word Magazine. He was recognized as a leading voice in both Christian ecumenical circles and in inter-faith dialogue around the world. (Brannan)
