Honoree: Florence E. Semple (1922-1998) held various church positions, including President of the Missionary Board at First Central Baptist Church. As a community activist, she organized tenants to advance drug-free buildings. She became President of the 120th Precinct Community Council and was involved with the Staten Island branches of both the NAACP and the Urban League.
