She was an active member of the Flushing Chapter of the NAACP, the Holly Civic Association, the 109th Community Council, the PS24Q Mother’s Club, her local church, and served on Queens Community Board 7 for 20 years. Most importantly, she established a youth program, which she ran for 20 years, and served hundreds of youth in the community. (Koo)
