LaneFirefighter Bobby Lane Way (Staten Island) Present name:Brielle Avenue Location:Between Manor Road and Bradley Avenue Honoree: Firefighter Robert Lane (b. 1972) was killed at the World Trade Center during fire and rescue operations following the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001. LL: 2003/06 James Lane III Way (Staten Island) Present name:none Location:Southeast corner of Potter Avenue and Fairview Avenue Honoree: James Lane III (b. 1994) died of a brain tumor at 8 years of age on July 2, 2002. LL:2004/08 Jodie Lane Place (Manhattan) Present name:11th Street Location:between Avenue A and 2nd Avenue Honoree: Jodie Shonah Lane (1973-2004) was a fifth year Ph.D. student in the clinical psychology program at Teachers College. On January 16, 2004, she was tragically killed while walking her two dogs when she stepped on an electrified portion of a ConEd manhole in front of Veniero's at 342 East 11th St. Her death prompted efforts to eliminate dangerous, substandard equipment installed in city streets.
