Honoree: Mother Arnetta Crawford was born in Evergreen, Alabama and educated in the Conecuh County school system. After moving to New York City to continue her education, she met and married the late Reverend Dr. Fletcher C. Crawford. They had four children. She was the leading Lady of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church for over forty-four years, There she organized the Rosebud Children's Choir, through which she taught hundreds of children over four decades. She was an advocate for education and invested in the schooling of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church (U.G.M.B.C.) students with words of wisdom, encouragement and love, as well as financial support. The Mother Arnetta Crawford Scholarship continues to provide financial help for college students. Many who participated in the scholarship program have gone on to become productive citizens of the community. Her concern for the health and well-being for women inspired her to organize the U.G.M.B.C. Women of Excellence Ministry. Women throughout the metropolitan area and along the east coast come together regularly to partake in workshops and conferences advocating for women's issues. (Salamanca, Jr.)

Rev. Dr. Fletcher C. Crawford Way (Bronx)

Honoree: After serving in the Army in World War II, Dr Fletcher Crawford (d. 2017) became the assistant pastor of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church, which had been founded by his father. He later succeeded his father as pastor and went on to lead his South Bronx congregation for more than 50 years. During his pastorate he oversaw the construction of a new Church on Hoe Avenue. It opened in 1984 to accommodate a congregation that had grown to more than 500. In 2010, as pastor emeritus, he witnessed the groundbreaking for a new building adjacent to the church that provides badly needed housing for the elderly and for low-income and homeless families. Dr. Crawford was a member of the Baptist Ministers Conference of Greater New York Vicinity; served twice as president of the Baptist Ministers Evening Conference; and was a member of the United Missionary Baptist Association, the Empire Missionary Baptist Convention and the National Baptist Convention. Honoree: Isaac Crawford (1948-1994) was born and raised in Brooklyn. After serving in the US Air Force, he decided to enter the ministry. He attended Virginia Union Seminary and was ordained in 1974. After serving congregations in Brooklyn and the Bronx, in 1986 he became minister of Mount Cella Baptist Church on Jesup Avenue, which he served until his death.

Honoree: Theresa Crawford (1909-1990) was a longtime community leader in Flushing. She was president of the Holly Civic Association and served on the board of the Franconia House. As a member of the P.S. 24 Mothers Club she helped to get it crossing guards, a library and a new wing.
