Honoree: Diego “Dickie” Palemine (1944-1986) began his career as a police officer in Manhattan, but was injured while in training and could not continue in the department. He later bought the Dongan Hills family eatery, Lee’s Tavern. Mr. Palemine was a sports enthusiast and a generous sponsor of many local sports teams.
